Reverting a full metal crisis
Crisis | Media Relations | Strategy
The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) the main UK body for the legitimate metals recycling industry faced a major fight against metal theft, we turned the tide of negative media coverage and helped forge better relations with government, the police and key stakeholders.

What We Did:
- Provided a reactive press office service to handle the sheer volume of enquiries
Producing press statements and delivering media training for key spokespeople
Launched a proactive campaign alongside the reactive work and facilitated the lobbying efforts of the BMRA
Results:
The tone of media coverage changed from demonising the industry to portraying the BMRA as part of the solution
The BMRA and ACPO agreed on a Code of Conduct which highlighted just how much relations between the two organisations improved
AS FEATURED ON
The proactive approach adopted by The Jargon Group has helped foster a spirit of co-operation with the police and ensured that the BMRA is now seen as an active partner in helping tackle the problem of metal thefts.
